Levi Johnston's romantic proposal to Bristol Palin

Levi Johnston went all out for his romantic proposal to Bristol Palin: Rose petals, down on one knee, the whole drill.

In a video from Us Weekly, the couple reveal how the surprise (but not unsuspected) re-engagement happened from their Anchorage, Alaska, condo.

Johnston, whose relationship with the Palin clan had been dicey since he and Bristol broke off their engagement last year, has apologized publicly and he promises that he will now be there for his son Tripp.

"I've missed out on a lot of his life, and I can't get that back," he admits. "Seeing him walk or crawl for the first time, or his first word ... I missed all that. More importantly, I am here now, and I am going to make it right."

Bristol adds, "Just watching TV together or when we took Tripp fishing the other day ... It just feels right to be a family."

Awww. This is so sweet. We'll miss you on the Hollywood red carpets, Levi. But we understand.
