Levi Johnston and Bristol Palin to marry, Sarah Palin just finding out
We'd be lying if we said we saw this coming. Despite Levi Johnston's recent backpedaling on his year-long publicity tour of of Palin-panning, reconciliation with his Northern baby mama never seemed likely.
Now the latest issue of Us Weekly reports that Johnston and Bristol Palin have not only reconciled, they're getting married. These kids have even made the classy decision to break the news to Bristol's mother former vice presidential candidate, Sarah Palin, at the same time as the story's release. (You know, unless this was actually all orchestrated by her.)
The couple maintained a curt relationship following the January 2009 dissolution of their first engagement, on the heels of baby Tripp's birth, but recently reconnected three months ago during custody talks about their now 18-month-old son.
"When he left that night, we didn't hug or kiss, but I was thinking how different it was," Bristol tells Us. "He texted me: 'I miss you. I love you. I want to be with you again' ... I was in shock."Now the latest issue of Us Weekly reports that Johnston and Bristol Palin have not only reconciled, they're getting married. But will that shock be shared by the leader of the Palin pack? Levi and Bristol claim Sarah's still in the dark (she certainly isn't now), but the former governor was uncharacteristically even-keeled the entire time Johnston bad-mouthed her in the press.
Perhaps, he's just a simple-minded pawn she's been moving across her chess board -- her presidential chessboard!
[UPDATE: Sarah's sticking to Bristol's claim that she was not in the loop. Early July 14, she shared a statement on "Today," saying, "Bristol at 19 is now a young adult. We obviously want what's best for our children. Bristol believes in redemption and forgiveness to a degree most of us struggle to put in practice in our daily lives."
