Lady Gaga tickles John Lennon's ivories. Beatle fans scream blasphemy!

gaga-lennon-piano.jpgBeatles fans are reportedly quite irate about Sean Ono Lennon daring to let Lady Gaga play his father John Lennon's white piano, a gift he gave to Yoko Ono in the early '70s.

Sean recently tweeted a photo of the fishnet-clad Gaga seated at the white grand piano. But after a Twitterfire of criticism, he removed the picture of his musical friend. The gist of the Beatle fans' ire was that Gaga wasn't worthy to play the holy relic.

In her defense, Sean replied: "Pianos meant are to be played. Why is everyone so uptight? What should we do, lock it away in a dusty room? So judgmental..."

When the criticism continued, he added: "Come on, lighten up ... life's too short, there're enough real problems in the world...

"Firstly, he gave that piano to my mother for her birthday, it is hers, secondly, he was not uptight the way you seem to be."

We think the always avant-garde John Lennon would have found Lady Gaga quite amusing, provocative and extremely talented.

What do you think?

Oh, I think that is no big deal about John Lennon's piano. It is just a stupid piano. As long as it didn't have "Eat at Dennys" or some commercial angle to it, who really cares? She's kind of talented in an interesting way too, which makes it more amusing.

I'm sure John Lennon himself would be very honored to know the biggest artist in the world today is placing her hands on that piano. C'mon people Michael Jackson, the King of Pop himself, was going to take Gaga on tour with him. This woman is 100% talent.

I don't think this is a big deal at all. It is just a stupid old piano, who cares? As long as it doesn't have some commercial angle to it, like painting a Coke logo on it, who cares? She is a talented woman too, in an amusing way, so I am cool with that.

Just a stupid old piano? I'm not even going to bother saying anymore, you would be too ignorant to understand.

However, as a Beatles fan, I am not outraged by this picture, I think it is nice that it is still out and being used.

@Steven: John Lennon would be honored?? i think you got that backward, dude.

people are so judgemental, jump to conclusions about an individual they really don't know, but assume things, Gaga is a good hearted person and I'm sure she worships the ground John Lennon walked on and wants to do some things in this world to make it a better place. We are all human and have flaws which we sometimes forget.

Ok, I'm sorry it seems like everyone is just looking for a reason to hate on gaga. She's playing the piano, not burning it, spitting on it, or breaking it. She's playing it. It's no big deal. I love gaga.

seriously, these people are blowing things out of proportion! she's a very talented young lady and i believe Lennon would have been more than happy to have Gaga play his piano. She has mentioned numerous times that she loves Lennon and that he is her "most favorite" artist. people just need to calm down and stop being so "uptight"!

First.... for Gaga to be there she had to be invited into the home by Sean, Yoko or both. It's not like Stef broke in and threw paint on a national shrine. She has stated numerous times in interviews... she considers
John Lennon her musical idol. That's why she has the peace symbol tattoo on her wrist. I'm sure the young lady was honored to be there and to be able to play that piano. It was probably one of the high points in the kid's life to date. I've been a Lennon/Beatle fan since the 60's. I'm guessing John would not give a rip about Gaga playing his piano.

Ugh there LUCKY LADY GAGA EVEN TOUCHED the stupid Piano!!!!
