Kristen Stewart's 'Welcome to the Rileys' trailer: 'Twilight' this is not

GoogleKristen Stewart is a household name because of the "Twilight" movies -- but it's the work she's done in between playing Bella that could set her up for a long and interesting career.
Her latest movie not involving pretty vampires is "Welcome to the Rileys," an intimate drama that hits theaters in October (it's already played at a few festivals and got good buzz and pretty good reviews at Sundance).
K-Stew plays a teenage stripper in New Orleans who catches the eye -- but not in that way -- of out-of-town visitor James Gandolfini. Gandolfini's character and his wife (Melissa Leo) have lost their own daughter, and he sees in Stewart someone who needs the help he still has to give.
Based on the trailer, Stewart more than holds her own with Leo and Gandolfini, two excellent actors. We already knew that she could do wounded and withdrawn -- see "Twilight," of course, but also "Adventureland" -- but she's also developing a knack for finding complex parts that take her far away from the world of "Twilight."

There is Oscar buzz surrounding this movie and Kristen is one of the names. The girl is due. Her career is heavy with great roles i.e. Into the Wild. It's about time she gets recognized for her good work. Twilight made her a star but she's always been a good actress. GO KSTEW...OSCAR NOD FOR BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS!!!
I seriously cannot wait for this movie. I've waited a long time for it. The trailer is full of emotion and that's what I'm looking forward to seeing along with the interesting storyline. As far as the Oscar nod...who knows anything can happen in this world.
This actually looks good. Tony Soprano makes everything good. Is she going naked in this? Bonus points if she is.
Oscar...for Kristen? I'm sorry, I respectfully disagree. First off, it's difficult to use Kristen Stewart and actress in the same sentence, since she can't act. When I say this, I am hinting at her inability of distinguishing one role from the other. Seriously! I've seen her films and they are all the same. The blinking, the sputtering, the mouth hanging open, and that same slack jawed stare.
I just don't think she has much going for her. Rob and Taylor have been seen in pretty big movies, but Kristen's biggest movie role (other than Twilight) was Joan Jett in the Runaways, other than that it's all indie crap. And Welcome to the Riley's is Gandofini's movie-not Kristen's.
Oscar for Kristen Stewart? You have got to be joking, she barely says anything in the preview. It's all the other 2 SEASONED actors. They just made sure she is flashing some flesh, that's about it. She should just pray that more than 30 people actually see this movie.
To (Future Flop and annmorphos) do either of you have the chops to be an actor and survive in the world that this girl lives every single day? Leave her alone. You don't know anything about her, you don't know her personally so I don't think you have the right to dog her like you are. and BTW if she wasn't a good actress then why was she chosen to do a role as mature and as complex as this? Just shows how much you know about this whole business. And you won't be the one laughing when way more than 30 people see this movie. Just please, enough with the crticism...
Holy Cow!!! I was not expecting that . She made my eyes all wet when she replied to the lady's line about her daughter . "It sucks!"

Kristen is a good actress. She is not one looking for the main part in a movie,from what i have seen she does not care about having just a few minutes on the screen as long as she likes the character. She is not looking for the next pay check. Check out "What Just Happened" "Fierce people" she always works with Hollywood heavy weights and they all talk really good about her work.
Watching the few clips of KStew in this trailer, it seemed as if I was watching her perofrmance of all of the other characters that she has portrayed. She plays every character the EXACT same way. The twitching, the blinking, the stammering - they are all the same mannerisms. I do not think that she's a good actress; she's passable at playing one character, and she does it over and over again.
hey lay off; kristen stewart is a really good actress just because her roles have the same mannerisms doesnt mean she cant act if you pay attention closely you'll see that she chooses roles that are eceptionally EMOTIONAL!!! and complex its not easy to portray an emotional role and then do it continuously over and over again does she play the same type of role over and over again yes but each of her characters are different in some way or another from one movie to the next. and p.s. if she wanted to go out and do some happy sappy easy to do get done quick movie she would but she doesnt she strives for emotion and complexity and thats what makes her a good actress- JUST BECAUSE SHE DIDNT SAY MUCH DURING THE PREVIEW DOESNT MEAN THAT SHE'S SILENT THROUGH OUT THE WHOLE MOVIE AND SHE DIDNT PUT THE PREVIEW TOGETHER THE PRODUCTION AND MARKETING PEOPLE DID SO CHILL THE HELL OUT GODDD!!
