Justin Bieber's life goes from fairy tale to comic book
Teen idol Justin Bieber's life is already a fairy tale. Now the successful sweet 16-year-old's story is becoming comic book fodder.Bluewater Productions is doing a Bieber edition of their Fame series of biographical comics. The comic -- all 32 pages of it -- comes out in October and will retail for $3.99.
Writer Tara Broeckel Ooten says that Bieber's fame is not a far reach from past iconic teen idols. She compares the Beatles "I Want To Hold Your Hand" and "She Loves You" to Justin's "Somebody to Love" and "Baby."
"I'm reminded of the stories my mom tells about when she was young and Beatlemania invaded the United States."
Bieber follows Lady Gaga and "Twilight" star Robert Pattinson, both of whose comic books sold out of their first runs. "Twilight" hunk Taylor Lautner and soccer stud David Beckham are also comic book fodder and Kristen Stewart and Taylor Swift's Fame comics come out in July.
Who needs comic book superheroes when we have teen idols?
