Jeffrey Jones from 'Ferris Bueller' arrested, related to 2003 sex offense charge

Jeffrey Jones, best known as Mr. Rooney in 1986's "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" has been arrested, the Los Angeles Times confirms. Jones failed to comply with the terms of his 2003 sentence, when he plead no contest to charges that he convinced a 14-year-old boy to pose for sexually explicit photographs.


Jones was sentenced to five years of probation and ordered to register as a sex offender and to undergo counseling. He was required to re-register after his 63rd birthday on Sept 29, 2009. On June 23 he was arrested for failing to do so.

The photographs in question depicted the Fontana teenager naked while wearing a cowboy hat and again while wearing an Indian headdress. They were taken on two separate occasions as Jones' Hollywood home. Jones allegedly met the boy through an acquaintance with another photographer, who sexually abused the child.

The Los Angeles County District Attorney's office confirmed that Jones was released on $20,000 bail.
