DMX goes to jail for 2002 reckless driving offense
Rapper DMX, who was recently released from a month-long jail sentence for a probation violation in Arizona, has turned himself in to the Los Angeles courthouse on Monday afternoon to begin serving a 90-day sentence stemming from a 2002 reckless driving offense.DMX -- a.k.a. Earl Simmons - was arrested for DUI, but his lawyers pled the offense down to reckless driving. TMZ reports that DMX violated the terms of his probation, which is why he is serving the 90-day sentence.
"Mr. Simmons is here today to fully cooperate with respect to any matters of the Court's concern," said DMX's attorney in a statement. "This is one of many steps towards rebuilding his image and rapport with the community and his loyal fans."
He and Lindsay Lohan are both meant to serve 90 days -- we're interested to see how long each of them actually remains in lockup.Follow Zap2it and @cadlymack on Twitter and Zap2it on Facebook for the latest TV, movie and celebrity news.
