Did Mel Gibson want revenge on TMZ honcho Harvey Levin?

The latest lurid headline about Mel Gibson is him allegedly saying, "I want the blood of Jews on my hands!"

His supposed target, however, says the story is hogwash -- so is it another awful episode for Gibson or just two celebrity websites battling it out for eyeballs?

Oksana Gregorieva has revealed to RadarOnline that Gibson told her he had targeted a powerful Jewish Hollywood figure for revenge for publicly humiliating him. But was that alleged Jewish Hollywood target TMZ founder Harvey Levin?

TMZ is now reporting that Oksana's rep, Steve Jaffe, told Levin earlier this week that Gibson described a plot to kill him to Grigorieva. Gibson allegedly told her he was furious about TMZ's coverage of his anti-Semitic rant during his 2006 DUI bust.

Jaffe told Levin that Grigorieva said Gibson wanted the "blood of Jews" on his hands, which considering all the other racist rants on those recently released audio tapes, doesn't sound like a far stretch. (Radar's story, incidentally, doesn't mention Levin or anyone else by name.)

Supposedly Gibson had designs on abducting Levin, driving him out to the desert, breaking his kneecaps and leaving him for dead. Sounds like an old gangster movie hit.

Jaffe told Levin the story during a conversation allegedly about a TMZ post was not favorable to Grigorieva. TMZ now says they've determined that the whole death-threat story is false.

Although, we kind of have a feeling that half of Hollywood probably wants to get Levin. In both good and bad ways!
