'Celebrity Rehab': Sarah Ferguson won't get the royal treatment

sarah-ferguson.jpgThe Duchess of York, Sarah Ferguson, had to turn down $1 million to appear on "Celebrity Rehab" because the royal family felt her going on the show, and airing the royal laundry, simply was not proper, according to PopCrunch.

In case you missed all the recent booze brouhaha, a financially strapped Sarah was accused of soliciting major moola (close to $500 thousand)  for giving access to her ex-husband, Prince Andrew.

Radaronline reports that in an earlier interview on "Oprah," she denied the accusations but since it was caught on videotape, she fessed, "I was in the gutter at that moment, I had been drinking." Hence the need for alcohol rehab, which would have made her drinking excuse more palatable.

But the Duchess of York's people have informed the Evening Standard newspaper, "She absolutely would not do that. Obviously she's got a long battle ahead of her, but that doesn't mean she'll be hopping on every celebrity show,"

Dr. Drew has been trying to land some star sizzle  for the fourth season. And he's been having a rough go finding stars willing to submit to the treatment.

Tila Tequila had committed to the show and "Laguna Beach" star Jason Wahler was also considering it. Liza Minnelli was rumored to be negotiating for $1 million to appear on the VH1 reality series.

Although Liza's rep denied her potential participation, The Dish Rag ran into Dr. Drew at the MTV Awards, where he appeared to be stalking Lindsay Lohan and he was aware of the show's offer to Liza.

"I think that was true. But I don't know how close they got," he admitted, before scampering off to find a potential rehabber for the show.

Duchess of York Sarah Ferguson and Hollywood Diva Liza Minnelli? Darn. We so would have watched that season. Who do  you think should go on "Celebrity Rehab?"
