BP CEO Tony Hayward likely to resign within the next 24 hours

In the wake of the catastrophic Gulf Oil Spill and all the aftermath, BP chief executive Tony Hayward is likely to resign his position within the next 24 hours, reports the BBC. They say a senior BP source claims an announcement is imminent regarding Hayward, whose future has looked grim over his handling of the environmental disaster.The source also says there is a "strong likelihood" that Hayward will be replaced by Bob Dudley, who took over BP's oil spill response last month. The BP board is expected to meet before the announcement on Monday (July 26).
When asked about the BBC report, a BP spokesman told the AFP he would not comment on speculation and added, "Tony Hayward is our chief executive. He has the full support of the board and management."
If the announcement does come, the BBC report also says that Hayward's severance package will likely be just over one million pounds ($1.5 million).

People, this disaster has nothing to do with who's President. Every time something happens, how is it the fault of the White House? Get Real. Bottom line, Tony Hayward should not be allowed to resign until he has cleaned up BP's mess! All money in his pension should be used to compensate all of the victims along the coast who were supported by the Gulf. Gulf = Dead Sea.
DOn't recall anyone saying it's Obama's FAULT, just that Heyward should take Obama with him when he resigns. Bet you were singing a completely different tune about the fault of the White House in a situation when everything including the backed-up toilet was Bush's fault.
