Al Gore, Laurie David's alleged 2-year affair ended his marriage

When former vice president/environmental activist Al Gore and his wife Tipper recently announced their split after 40 years of marriage, the tabloids had a field day.

The Globe claimed Al was secretly gay. The National Enquirer insisted that Tipper was a jealous wacko.

Now there are reports from the Star that Al has been having an affair with Larry David's ex wife -- Laurie David-- for the past two years. Or maybe they just recyled together?

David divorced her "Curb Your Enthusiasm" husband in 2007 and is a big global warming activist. She also produced Al Gore's award-winning documentary, "An Inconvenient Truth."

 Al's camp and Laurie's folks deny the alleged affair.

But The Dish Rag's source --  who traveled with Gore on his presidential campaign and is still close to Gore's staff, says the rumor is true.

"Al is very afraid of scandal, especially after all that messy Bill Clinton sex stuff. He and Tipper have been living separate lives for some time but they are friendly and they don't want his legacy sullied by leaks about his relationship with Laurie or the other women."

Wait, other women?  Well, all The Dish Rag knows is that 40 years is a very long time. No judging here.
