Vanessa Carlton announces her bisexuality at Nashville Pride

vanessa-carlton.jpgSinger/songwriter Vanessa Carlton openly announced her bisexuality while headlining the Nashville Pride festivities this weekend.

She told the 18,000 people in the audience: "I've never said this before, but I am a proud bisexual woman."

"True Blood" star Anna Paquin also made news with her recent revelation about her own bisexuality. Paquin explained that she "just wanted to do my bit my coming out."

The Grammy-nominated singer, 29,  best known for  "A Thousand Miles" and "Ordinary Day," had been romantically linked to Third Eye Blind singer Stephan Jenkins (who used to date Charlize Theron), but they split a few years ago.

Carlton dedicated a song off her second album -- "Who's to Say?"  -- to her gay fans. It's a song about forbidden love, and the lyrics include "And who's to say that we're not good enough? / And who's to say that this is not our love?"

Her fourth album, "Rabbit on the Run", is also coming out.  And one of the songs on the LP will be  "I Don't Want to be a Bride."

Congrats, Vanessa. That's a brave thing to do.

She says she is Proud? Vanessa Carlton "I've never said this before, but I am a proud bisexual woman."

What does that even mean to say you are proud that you like to have sex with everyone?

Yea I'm a PROUD Straight Guy.. can you imagine ... I would probably get strung up for saying that...

Oh Crap and if I said I was white too ... I would probably get deported.

Big Deal You Bang Everyone..

I have no idea who this woman is.

Ignoring previous idiotic posts...
Good for her. The more people that come out and be honest about who they are, the better. She is a wonderful artist and she probably feels better being true to herself.

Dear Hockey Guy:

How to say...no, you wouldn't be strung up for coming out as straight. It's important for people to make that declaration, especially people who no one would think of as gay because then people can see that gay people are just everyday folks. We're neighbors, friends, family, etc. Hopefully they'll be a day when this won't be an issue. Also, most of the "bi" peep I've met only have relationships with one person at a time. No offense, just sayin'....

"Her fourth album, 'Rabbit on the Run', is also coming out. "

What a coincidence!!

Is it really that brave at this point? Who really cares who she has sex with?

exactly... who cares?

Im about as gay-friendly as a straight girl can be, but honestly, who cares anymore? I appreciate the fact that glbt folks deal with discrimination and harrassment, but really- "announcing" your sexual preference doesnt help anyones cause. My 2 best friends/roommates are a gay couple and neither one of them feels the need to announce to the world that they are gay. If someone asks them, they are honest, but they dont need to randomly tell people "Hey! I have sex with men!". Then again, they dont have an album coming out soon......
I feel bad for gay people, because being gay/bi has become trendy. It just makes it that much harder for those who are trying to do good within the gay community.

your all sick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
