'Twilight' Kristen Stewart: Red carpet is like 'someone being raped'

kristen-stewart-aus.jpg
Wow, Kristen Stewart sure does open up a lot more for overseas press.

In yet another part of her interview for Elle UK, the "Twilight" starlet compares the media circus on the red carpet to being raped, reports ABC News.

Wow, exaggerate much, K-Stew?

While most young stars are happy to show off their latest duds and smile for the cameras, Stewart is far more unwilling to be there on the red carpet.

"The photos are so ... I feel like I'm looking at someone being raped," she says.

Ouch. Well, we're not going to overanalyze that one. We totally get that some people need more privacy than others, and despite all her discomfort, at least she goes out there and does her duty.

Stewart will no doubt have more chances to feel violated running up to the premiere of "Eclipse," which hits theaters on June 30.

What a completely asinine thing to say.

she said she feels like she's watching a rape, she didn't say she felt like she was BEING RAPED. Leave this poor girl alone already, stop picking her every word apart and realize that this is a 20 yr girl who has been thrusted into the spotlight. Yes she is an actress but she also didn't ask to have everything she says and does written about, analyzed and then torn apart, She can't even walk out of her house without being hounded and followed. She has had her life taken from her at the hands of the paps, and quite a bit of them have no right to even be in this country let alone stalking people. Let her be, stop finding things she says and does to critique.

Sorry, but she needs to give the angst a rest. She chose to pursue the life she has. If she really feels so miserable in the limelight, then it's really simple - get out of it. Otherwise, she needs to pipe down and smile pretty for the cameras that give her all those millions.

Even though she said it's like "watching" a rape, it was a stupid cloddish thing to say but what do you expect from a young actress clueless about the real world?

seriously you people arent even rite so has this person seen someone being raped before because im pretty sure that it wouldnt be like that because she is beautiful dont hate the player hate the game isnt that what they say i mean as far as im concerned she should be who she wants to be and not like what you all want her to be so shut up

i have to say i'm inclined to agree with Karen's post above. except i guess Kristen can do whatever she wants really, just wish she'd enjoy the ride for what it is.

What an idiotic thing to say. Whether she said "watching" or "being" it is easily one of the most unintelligent, and down right offenive, things I have heard her say.

Somehow I doubt rape victims would be comparing their ordeal to a stupid red carpet event.

Really expected better from Kristen.

Because saying it's like WATCHING raped is some much better than saying it's like BEING raped. If she doesn't want to deal with all of the publicity stuff, then she shouldn't be an actress. It's that simple. In today's day and age, the loss of some of one's privacy unfortunately comes with the territory. She makes millions of dollars, gets to travel around the world, meet incredible people, and she's still complaining. On top of all of that, her acting is substandard at best, with all of her twitching and excessive blinking. She should just be grateful that she has a career, while there are so many struggling actors and actresses out there, more talented than she is, who haven't been able to get a break yet.

Give me a break! This country has gotten so out of hand no one can say a word without offending this group or the other group. Another definition for the word is "An act of plunder, violent seizure, or abuse; despoliation; violation: examplet he rape of the countryside." Give this kid a break, she loves what she does and the photographers animals shouting profanities, pushing. THEY ARE STALKERS! If it is a public event so be it, when it comes to these people private times there should be a limit as what they can do. She did not use the word incorrectly. No one should be offended by this, every body so God Damm sensitive.

Zap2It, you are proving her point, as is any other news source who posts this picture of her panties peek-a-boo from the red carpet. If that is not a violation, what is? Have some respect. Shame on you, Zap2It.
