Tiger Woods could win the US Open! If the banners don't rattle him

Tiger Woods is back in the game!

Saturday (June 19) he birdied eight of his final 15 holes at Pebble Beach, including three straight to finish just 1-under par.

He's now one of three players below par in the U.S. Open, trailing Dustin Johnson (-6) and Northern Ireland's Graeme McDowell (-3).

The three-time U.S. Open champion was 25th yesterday. Now he's 3rd. Best of all, Woods finally heard the crowd cheering for him.

Which has got to feel good, especially with the news that Tiger mocking banners will be flown by planes above the final round of the tourney on Sunday (June 20).

According to TMZ, NationalSkyAds.com has been hired to fly two banners over Pebble Beach on the final day of the tournament. The first will say, "TIGER: ARE YOU MY DADDY?" and the second will read, "HAPPY FATHER'S DAY TIGER LOL."

Is that even legal, not to mention sporting?

"It's been a while," Woods said about the applause. "I hadn't played good enough for anyone to cheer for anything. It was nice to actually put it together on the back nine and put myself right back in the championship. Everyone was so excited and fired up; it was a great atmosphere to play in front of."
