Sandra Bullock laughs at self at Guys Choice Awards
There's a reason why Sandra Bullock wins so much love in Hollywood and with her fans.
The actress showed up at Spike TV's Guys Choice Awards on Saturday (June 5) in Los Angeles -- her first public appearance since her private life became tabloid fodder -- to accept the Troops Choice award for Entertainer of the Year.
As usual, she looked stunning in a nearly skintight black leather dress and exhibited that wry, self-deprecating humor that we'd become familiar with from previous speeches.
"Let's be honest here, just for a moment. We're all going to be honest, right?" Bullock addressed the audience after getting her award from presenter "Iron Man 2" star Robert Downey, Jr. "Did I win this for being entertainer of the year, or did I win this because of the spectacular I.E.D. [improvised explosive device] explosion that became my personal life?"
Wow, Bullock really does know how to have grace under fire, but also being able to laugh at herself? She added, "No, it's okay. Because I would do it over again if it was to entertain our troops, and our extraordinary troops deserve something much more than some actress in a tight dress talking about herself. I would sing, but you've seen enough pain in your lifetime. I would dance - I'm a pretty good dancer, but as I mentioned, the dress is pretty tight."
The award is bestowed on an entertainer by members of the military. Bullock received a standing ovation.

Class act?! Somebody must be joking. She's always seemed quite calculating--it usually works for her until she's taken by someone more calculating than herself.

Good for her! She's a STRONG woman to dump the man she married who lied to her and cheated on her, unlike most women in the limelight. Very happy for her!
