Rosie Huntington-Whiteley lands 'Transformers 3' lead

It's official: Michael Bay has replaced Megan Fox with Victoria's Secret model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.

"I would like for all you S4TE fans to welcome Rosie Huntington Whitely to the world of Transformers," reads a post from Bay's website. "As some of you might know, she's the new female lead in 'Transformers 3.' She's worked with Michael before in his Victoria's Secret 'A Thousand Fantasies' ad."

We can't say we're surprised since Zap2it previously reported that the British model was a frontrunner for the role. We wonder if she can fill Fox's shoes and hold her own against Shia LaBeouf. She's certainly got the sexy thing down pat. Hopefully she keeps her accent.

Production on "Transformers 3" is already underway, which is a good thing since it's scheduled for a July 2011 release.

Besides Huntington-Whiteley, the cast also includes the sexified Josh Duhamel, Patrick Dempsey, Tyrese Gibson, Alan Tudyk, John Malkovich, Frances McDormand and Ken Jeong.
