Randall Cunningham, ex-NFL QB, loses son in tragic drowning

2-year-old Christian Cunningham, the youngest child of ex-NFL quarterback Randall Cunningham, died Tuesday, June 29 after what Las Vegas police say appears to be an accidental drowning.

Cunningham played in the NFL for 16 years and is now an ordained minister and pastor at a church in Las Vegas that he runs with his wife Felicity. A man who described himself as a family friend at the gate of the two-story five-bedroom stucco home told an AP reporter the family was declining immediate comment.

LVPD officer Marcus Martin said police were called late Tuesday afternoon to Cunningham's home in southeast Las Vegas after an adult at the house with several other children found the boy in the hot tub and began trying to resuscitate him.

The child was pronounced dead less than an hour later at St. Rose Dominican Hospital Siena campus in nearby Henderson, NV.

So, so sad. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Cunningham family at what must be an extraordinarily difficult time.
