Kal Penn leaves White House, is Kumar again
Kal Penn is leaving his job at the White House and returning to Hollywood. Because you cannot deny Harold and Kumar.Penn, who left the cast of "House" to take a position at the White House Office of Public Engagement, left the job on June 1 because of "prior obligations," CNN reports. "We deeply appreciate his service and wish him the best in his future endeavors," White House spokesman Shin Inouye says.
Just what "prior obligations" would be so important as to leave a job at the White House? Well, obviously, it's "Harold & Kumar 3."
The third movie in the franchise, "A Very Harold & Kumar Christmas," recently began shooting in Michigan, with Penn and John Cho once again starring. Neil Patrick Harris has said he'll be back as well.
Penn, who campaigned for Barack Obama in 2008, was an associate director in the Office of Public Engagement, which tries to make the government more accessible to citizens.

I thought he left like two months ago?
Kal Penn announced that he would be leaving acting to take the job in the White House's Office of Public Liason & Intergovernmental Affairs.
I assume this means that there will not be a "Harold & Kumar 3".
For us Kal Penn fans and "Harold & Kumar" fans, our only hope is that President Obama does not win the 2012 election and Kal Penn would return to his love of acting.
god help u Jessica, you are so confused.
Glad he's back, leaving "HOUSE" was a mistake. Hopefully he'll find another hit show, maybe staring him.
Jessica, can you read .. like... words and stuff?
Is he a Muslim like Obama....
no one has any logic anymore ... kal penn had 2 good jobs back-to-back (house and the white house) .. and he leaves the that to do a movie that will surely bomb in the box office .. who asked for a 3rd H&K movie????
The second was a hit, and the thirs will likely be a hit as well. With Niel coming back, and Mr. Penn as well - two respected actors - the mo0vie likely is very funny in script.
Should do very well. It will not bomb.
Good choice. Who the heck wants to work for the government when you can be a famous actor instead.
