Justin Bieber, Taylor Lautner replacing the Jonas Brothers? Research says yes
Are the Jonas Brothers getting too old for the biz? Research at the Disney Channel, uncovered by The Daily Beast, says that Nick, Joe, and Kevin are taking a hit in album sales and ratings for their Disney show, "JONAS." "I think it's something of a changing of the guard in terms of a teen pop crush," said Billboard editor Ann Donahue. "Justin Bieber is definitely the next new thing and is overshadowing the Jonas Brothers." The Disney research says that 8 and 9 year old girls still love the Jonas Brothers, but 9 and 10 year old girls are embarrassed to talk about them.
While Bieber might have Usher (and Twitter) behind him, the JoBros have the Disney marketing machine on their side. When the newly revamped version of their show - now called "JONAS LA" hits screens on June 20, Disney execs hope that the Jonas Brothers will become cool again.
Hmm. Don't hold your breath, Mickey Mouse. "The Jonas Brothers aren't 'in' as much anymore," one young girl told Disney. Another said, "I became less of a fan when 'Twilight' came out, and now I'm more into Taylor Lautner."
If Disney fans are looking for "Twilight"-style romance, they're not going to get it with "JONAS LA." The Disney Channel -- which caters to 6-14 year olds -- allows only one kiss per season, so don't expect Joe, Nick, or Kevin to steam up your TV screens any time soon.

Justin and Taylor aren't replacing the Jonas Brothers. I hate Justin Bieber. I hate him because he got a tattoo. He is so stupid to do that. And his parents are so stupid to have him at a young age. And his fathera is so stupid to get in jail too. And overall he's a bad roll modle for getting a tattoo. And fans of Jonas dumped them for Justin. And I'm not a fan of Taylor and Justin.
I for got to say that the research is wrong again Taylor and Justin aren't replacing the Jonas Brothers. I stayed a true fan to the Jonas Brothers because I didn't dump them for Taylor and Justin or for any other band or artist.
One more thing the person who wrote this article needs to do their research better. Because I don't see them replacing the Jonas Brothers. They don't get paid enough to be replacing the Jonas Brothers no one gets paid enough to replace them.
Definitely not. The Jonas Brothers are still really popular with the older teens. Many of the younger girls weren't ever really into them actually. They have tons of older fans. I'm 50 and my sister is 48 and we really like them and their show. Justin has no depth imho and his popularity won't last.
I don't dislike Taylor Lautner, but I do hate this whole Twilight BS. And the thing with Justin Bieber is I'm so sick of him being compared to Michael Jackson, he's nowhere near that good.
I feel so bad for our youth. Those are the choices they have? Jonas Brothers or Justin Bieber? I'm kids, we have failed you.
The demographic for this is only aimed for a certain age. All the Jonas Brothers fans are older. They just had 25,000 people show up at The Grove in LA for a free concert, which is the biggest concert @the grove ever.. I don't think they're being replaced. Sorry.
i'm a teen and i'm not afraid to talk about how much i love the jonas brothers. also i hate justin bieber, the jonas brothers earnt their spot as superstars all he did was sing a couple of songs and put them on youtube, his lucky if his career lasts a another 6 months.
Imaa teen and I love Justin bieber! He is the new thing he has many fans! Plus he already had to cancel conerts bc they were too crowded.. Ur just haterss that he's actually good. :) and hes hott!!
Don't judge a person's music career based on the likes of pre-teens (or even young teens)... they're far to fickle and obsessed with the latest thing. Whatever is new and hot at the moment is what they focus on. It's all part of their seemingly short attention spans.
If they can drop someone that quickly then they weren't a true fan. A real fan likes the music star/group for the music and continues to do so years down the road (maybe even for life).
I'm an adult and still like the Jonas Brothers, I'm one of those rare male fans too. They just need to keep on going and find a new audience, replacements for those fair-weather "fans". Even Hanson still has a loyal following, I'm sure the Jonas Brothers will do the same.
Don't say their career is over based on some 8-10 year-olds, most are too young to remember them that well I'm sure.
