Betty White grieves death of friend Rue McClanahan, may still shoot 'Hot in Cleveland'
The last surviving Golden Girl, Betty White, 88, has got to be overwhelming sad today to hear of the death of her close friend and costar, Rue McClanahan.
According to TV Land reps, she is not talking to press today, although she did release a brief but tender and emotional statement to Zap2it about the loss of her friend: "Rue was a close and dear friend. I treasured our relationship. It hurts more than I even thought it would, if that's possible."
The show's publicists tell The Dish Rag that her new show, "Hot in Cleveland" starring Betty, Valerie Bertinelli, Jane Leeves, and Wendie Malick, has scheduled preshoots today.
Will Betty have to work today? "We don't know who is on the preshoot list for today. But so far, nothing has changed."
Our deepest sympathies to all those who knew and loved Rue.
And that's a lot of people.
