BET Awards: Did Queen Latifah just come out of the closet?

Queen Latifah has conquered stage, screen, and of course, the music industry, but she has always been very tight-lipped when it comes to her much-speculated about sexuality. When Latifah hosted the BET Awards on June 27, she surprised fans by making a joke about the speculation, saying that she's "only seen in the company of fine women."Of course, Twitter exploded. A search for the words "Did Queen Latifah just come out?" yeilded hundreds of results. But was that really the message that Latifah was sending? After all, she was "in character" as Cleo from her 1996 movie "Set It Off." Younger fans might not remember that Cleo, a bank robber, was a lesbian.
Considering her tendency to keep her private life private, we're going to guess that Latifah was just playing along with the skit, not making a serious statement. Regardless, props to Latifah for revisiting a 14-year-old character and having a sense of humor about it.

Either way, I am happy for Queen Latifah. She's a very talented woman actress, and that's what's important to me. Her private life is her own.
I thought she came out four or five years ago. Right around the time she made the movie "Last Holiday." Anyway, non-story. I'm sure she'll find someone special if she hasn't already.

Actually, I heard she beats her women. Didn't know about her CB speech, and I hate to say that because I am a fan, but I heard it a few times. She keeps her women in check.
