Al Gore, Tipper Gore separate after 40 years

Former Vice President Al Gore and his wife Tipper -- who kissed so passionately at the Inaugural Ball in 1993 -- have decided to separate.
"We are announcing today that after a great deal of thought and discussion, we have decided to separate," the Gores tell friends via email, which has been posted on several news sites.
"This is very much a mutual and mutually supportive decision that we have made together following a process of long and careful consideration. We ask for respect for our privacy and that of our family, and we do not intend to comment further."
The Gores got married in 1970. He has called her his high school sweetheart and they have four grown children.
Gore, a former congressman, served as vice president under former President Bill Clinton from 1993-2000. He lost his own bid for president in 2000. A political insider tells The Dish Rag that the democratic party elite has held a grudge against Tipper since that time.
They blame her for her husband losing the 2000 presidential race because she disliked Bill Clinton (that Monica Lewinsky business) and would not permit Al to let Clinton campaign for him.
The Gores recently purchased a $8.875 million home in Montecito, California. Wonder who will live there?
So far, no possible extra-marital affairs for either Tipper or Al have come to light. But sadly, you can bet everyone's sniffing around for names now.

Crappy news! I never like seeing couple separating although I rarely pay attention to celebrity couples since that news/ gossip bores me as much as what people wear to awards shows and events.
I wonder if this has anything to do with the rumours that Joe Biden is going to retire at the next election and Al Gore is going to be vice president.
