ABC comes out swinging in Nicollette Sheridan assault case against 'Desperate' boss
After months of silence and rumors of a settlement, ABC has begun fighting back against former "Desperate Housewives" star Nicollette Sheridan's lawsuit against former boss Marc Cherry.According to The Hollywood Reporter, ABC has hired on high-profile employee litigation specialist, Adam Levin. Levin is best known for successfully defending Warner Bros. Television against a harassment suit from a former "Friends" writer's assistant.
"We intend to delve into the merits of her claims, all of which we strenuously dispute," Levin told the publication.
Apparently, he hasn't wasted any time. Levin has already requested private documents from Sheridan's reps surrounding her alleged assault. He also seeks to depose her on tape as early as August.
Additionally, ABC is requesting documents and information from Sheridan's agents at Innovative Artists and Don Buchwald & Associates, and publicity company BWR, among others. They're also seeking documents for medical records revolving around Sheridan's assault claim.
Sheridan filed her lawsuit in April in Los Angeles Superior Court. She is suing Cherry for assault and battery, gender violence and wrongful termination and seeks more than $20 million in damages.
[Update: According to The Hollywood Reporter, Sheridan has amended her case alleging for the first time that ABC investigated her assault claim against Cherry and told her it was merely a "light tap on the side of the head."]

Nicollette is a smelly tramp, she was so lucky to be in that show with her ugly leather face. Good thing they fired her and now the talented Venessa Williams is replacing this monster.
Nicolette learned the art of deception, defiance, and manipulation from Greg Sumner on her first show, Knots Landing. This suit is just a reflection of the fact that the girl just wants something for nothing and does not want to get out and audition for other roles (though now she is probably blackballed and on a list with Sean Young due to her being a malcontent among casts).
All I can say is good luck!
She just wants publicity and money, if none of the other actresses have said anything, what makes her any different.
I hope she takes them to the cleaners and exposes Cherry and his well-known in Hollywood temper. you go Nic!!
Nicollette rocks! You girls are just jealous.
the only thing that she may get is wrongful termination if she was under contract for seven seasons like the rest of the ladies are with an option for nine and they killed her off they breached the contract. Had this happened and she reported it to the police or someone at ABC when it happened it would be a little more believeable.
i do miss having edie britt on wisteria lane. the show should work overtime to bring her back for a couple episodes, maybe the ratings would go up

Who's right in the Nicollette vs ABC??? Who knows? It's probably 6 of one and a half dozen of the other. Some of those HW execs think they can treat people any way they please and some disgruntled stars think they can make a killing by bringing lawsuits. Who knows???
