'Vampire Diaries' star Nina Dobrev plays 'Deathgames' with Kellan Lutz

The movie "Deathgames" is getting awfully vampiric -- and a little more squee!-worthy too.

Nina Dobrev, the star of The CW's "The Vampire Diaries," has joined "Twilight" vamp Kellan Lutz in the movie, which is filming in Louisiana. James Remar ("Dexter"), who guested on "TVD" this season, has also been cast, according to The Hollywood Reporter's Heat Vision blog. So has Derek Mears (Jason in the "Friday the 13th" remake.)

"Deathgames" stars Lutz as a man who's abducted and forced into an underground fighting league for the entertainment of viewers online. Samuel L. Jackson also stars as the man controlling the fights.

Dobrev will play Lutz's wife, and Remar is playing a shady character called Tall Man. Mears will play one of the other fighters.

There's no word on a release date for "Deathgames" yet.
