'Twilight's' Robert Pattinson surprises Twihard family

robert-pattinson-gi-500.jpgDid you know that Robert Pattinson makes house calls?

The "Twilight" star visited Maria Mele and her ultimate Twihard family as part of a surprise for Oprah Winfrey's "Twilight"-themed show, reports People.

Mele had submitted stories of how just how devoted her family was to the vampire franchise, pointing out how her son Giuseppe looks like R.Patz and even recreating scenes like the one where Edward is in the tree and looking down at Bella (Kristen Stewart).

When Winfrey responded though, she told the disappointed Mele that she wouldn't be invited to the taping, but that she'd be interviewed via Skype instead. Just as Mele was about to get on the Internet for her date with Oprah, Pattinson showed up at her home as a surprise.

What do you do when that particular vampire arrives on your doorstep? You invite him in of course.

"[My family and I] all lost it," Mele tells the magazine. "[We were] screaming like a bunch of maniacs. We were all amazed that he was in our house."

In the end, Pattinson stayed all of 10 minutes in the Naperville, Ill. home, and the Meles were invited to visit "The Oprah Winfrey" show after all .

Tune into "Oprah" on Thursday, May 13 for the special "Twilight" episode and more on the Meles' experience.

How cool of Rob to do this for a fan...And how cool of Oprah to set it up. We Twihards are an unusual bunch

Pattinson probably had to scour himself clean with a hot shower for hours afterward to wash away the stench of shameless pandering, not to mention the house probably reeked of cat urine and stale air.

Disgustipated, it wasn't very nice to say that about the home of a family you don't even know. Robert Pattinson showed that he is a good sport and a very nice person to visit the fans that Oprah arranged for him to visit. I would hardly call that pandering. Instead I would call that great public relations for Summit, himself and Oprah. Wish my family could have been the one he visited. I would love to meet him and can hardly wait for Eclipse to be released.

That's nice of him. I wouldn't want to do that. It would be too awkward. This is an adult with a child who is a little too obsessed with a book/movie; it's prolly a little weird.

He is so nice! And by the way, their house does NOT smell. I am friends with the Mele's daughter, Rosanna, and they are very wealthy!
