'Twilight: Eclipse': Muse lands soundtrack's first single
When "Twilight" fans watch "Eclipse," they'll be inspired just like author Stephenie Meyer is when she writes. That's right. The band Muse, whom Meyer listens to when she's dreaming up heartbreaking scenarios for Bella, will appear on the "Eclipse" soundtrack.
"The first single on 'The Twilight Saga: Eclipse -- Original Motion Picture Soundtrack' has just been confirmed and I get to bring you the exclusive details," writes Meyer's webmaster Seth on her official site. "Stephenie's very favorite band, Muse, has contributed a song called 'Neutron Star Collision (Love is Forever)' and it's the first single from the project."
The single will be out on Monday, May 17, and the full soundtrack drops on Tuesday, June 8.
"I haven't heard it yet, but I am very excited," adds Seth.
The band also confirmed the news, tweeting, "A brand new Muse song will be released worldwide on Monday May 17th! The track, 'Neutron Star Collision (Love Is Forever)' was written and recorded by the band earlier this year and has been chosen to be the lead single from the soundtrack of the forthcoming Twilight film 'Eclipse.'"
Besides Meyer's being a huge fan of Muse, having them on the "Eclipse" soundtrack was a no-brainer. Director David Slade had helmed a few of Muse's videos for their second album.
"Eclipse" itself will open worldwide in theaters on Wednesday, June 30.

I can't think of two more overrated entities in pop culture that annoy me the most at this minute besides the vapid Twilight saga and those lame Queen-wannabees Muse. They truly deserve each other; let them drown in a sea of bombast and inflated self-importance.
Matthew Bellamy is a musical genius. Haters to the left.
I'm so sick of this Twilight sh-t.
