'Twilight: Breaking Dawn': Mo' money, mo' problems? [updated]

UPDATE 5/12: EW.com is reporting that Lutz and Green have asked for $4 million apiece for each installment of "Breaking Dawn," while Summit has offered no more than $1 million. Co-star Nikki Reed reportedly agreed to the lower number.Original post below.
Fans want to see the last installment of the "Twilight" saga, "Breaking Dawn," broken into two movies. Summit Entertainment, which is making the film(s), wants that too. But the official announcement of two films has hit a hurdle: contract talks.
A few members of the "Twilight" supporting cast -- notably Kellan Lutz and Ashley Greene -- are holding out for more money to do a fifth movie. Summit has so far said no to their demands, and according to The Hollywood Reporter, the threat of recasting has even been thrown around.
"We may have a situation where one of them is thrown out on the street to make a point," a source "close to the dealmaking" tells the paper.
Yikes. Are they really talking about replacing Emmett and/or Alice Cullen midstream? Yes, "Twilight" has already set a recasting precedent by replacing Rachelle Lefevre with Bryce Dallas Howard for "Eclipse" -- but Lutz and Greene, who arguably are a much more recognizable part of the franchise, would be a bigger loss. (It's unclear in the HR story if the threat of recasting would apply to both parts of "Breaking Dawn" or just to a fifth movie.)
There shouldn't be as much drama with the movie's three leads, though: Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner are all reportedly close to signing on for "Breaking Dawn" part two -- with sizable raises.
"Breaking Dawn" -- whether it's one or two movies, and regardless of who's in it -- is scheduled to start shooting in the fall with director Bill Condon.

Throw out Kellan, and keep Ashley on the payroll. He's got a crapload of roles coming up, and he'll just play the same emotionless block of chiseled wood that he is in the Twilight movies and in his glorious death in Nightmare on Elm Street. Ashley's got talent.
Hollywood if filled with beautiful actresses who can play Alice. Show up to work or get out.
Summit is making a boat load of $ of these films. Share the wealth and keep the original actors in the their roles.
It's not surprising that the two most vain and famewhorey people in the franchise are asking for rasie that they don't deserve.
And to the first poster, Ashley is easliy forgettable and replaceable as Alice. Plus she's in breaking dawn all of 10 mins.
Hahahaha! You're kidding, right? Alice and Emmett are miniscule roles in BD! And anyway...if they want a raise from their million dollar pay checks then kick 'em out! I'll take their place! I'm not so greedy as to want a raise...I'll take the million dollars any day. HA!
There are lots of pretty bimbos who can play their part. Completely replacable. If they have to fire one, then fire Kellan because Ashley will play the victim like rachelle did and get sympathy for being a girl. What greedy people
They JUST CAN'T replaced Ashley and Kellan! Ashley's character one of the main characters and NO ONE can't play Emmet like it did Kellan!
As long as it is not crazy high like = to the big three high i think they should get it the movies are making tons they should get there part.
They could be replaced. Emmett has a small role in all the movies and if he wasn't played by a sexy hunk no one would care. There are others out there. Alice's role in BD is less than in the other movies. The STORY is more important than the actors. No one knows HOW MUCH more money they are asking and considering it is Summit who put them on the map. they could do it for free and come out ahead.
