'Today': Matt Lauer cheating scandal rumors 'unfounded'
Matt Lauer needs to be left alone already, say his employers. The "Today" show is weighing in on the allegations that the TV host cheated on his wife Annette Roque with Whitney Houston's half-sister.
"The allegations surrounding Matt Lauer are completely inaccurate and unfounded," the show says in a statement released Wednesday (May 19). "These accusations are reckless and harmful to the Lauer family.
"Equally reckless, irresponsible and inaccurate are the accusations about his 'Today' show colleagues. Matt and his wife have spoken out on this on the record and will not be discussing it further."
Already, all parties who were supposedly involved in the scandal -- Lauer, Roque and Alexis Houston -- have denied the affair.
Now, "Today" has made the decree. Can we let this die already?
