Shia LaBeouf bashes Steven Spielberg, George Lucas at Cannes. Is Oliver Stone next?
Seems like Shia La Beouf is single-handedly killing his career every time he opens his mouth. He recently admitted how disappointed he was with the second "Transformers" movie, directed by Michael Bay.
His "Transfomers" criticism was: "We got lost. We tried to get bigger. It's what happens to sequels. It's like, how do you top the first one? You've got to go bigger. [Michael Bay] went so big that it became too big, and I think you lost the anchor of the movie. You lost a bit of the relationships. Unless you have those relationships..., then it's just a bunch of robots fighting each other."
Now he's slamming Steven Spielberg's "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull."
"I'd already been involved in a movie where I felt like we dropped the ball on a legacy," he said, referring to the ''Indiana Jones" sequel at the Cannes junket for his third sequel, "Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps."
"In that movie, I just felt sort of pigeonholed. Like I didn't have enough meat to chew on. I just feel like we were trying to enforce innocence on an audience that wasn't willing. You can't force things, you know?"
Can't wait to hear what he'll say next year about "Wall Street." If this sequel tanks too, he'll probably find someone else to blame again. Just don't blame Oliver Stone, Shia. That one will bite back.

If this young man's not careful, he's going to wind up out of work. You don't bash two of the most influential people in Hollywood who have basically helped your career so early on.
Has Drew Barrymore ever done that? No, and she never will, because Spielberg's her Godfather, and she probably has no interest in work for Lucas, but may have respect for him.
how won't wind up out of work because he CAN act. i mean brando sabotaged himself but did still find work and he was way worse than labeouf. shia will be fine. only if you cannot act will you be screwed.
That sounds badly worded. When does he say it's Indy 4, it sounds more like the interviewers conclusion. I'd bet money he never said the name of the movie and was referring to the 2nd Dumb & Dumber.
Good for him. What balls. Im sure he has enough $$ in the bank to call it quits if he wants to. Spielbeg, Lucas and Bay HAVE screwed up and they deserve to hear this blasting. Bigtime. Krystal Skull was an abomination. (MONKEYS?!, You dicks have no clue anymore)
Transformers is a garbled mess and Lucas is mentally in a some kind of other world candyland nobody can shake him from. I am now a fan of Shia L. Good job bud!
You know I dont think he means to bash them. I really think he just wants to let the audience know that he knows they weren't that great despite good sales. He wants to do great work but every film is not going to hit that mark. He should be realistic about that and take the hits and misses on the chin. They probably already know the work wasn't top notch and just traded on the franchises reputations. Just shush Shia and keep your friends close... you never know when you might need some financial backing for an independent project.
shia can act really? looking scared and confused 80% of the time are considred acting now? what's your idea of ad-libbing? "no no no no no no no no no no!!!"?
I have to say that LA-Booph's comments are not unreasonable. He is right on the money with all his criticisms. They are valid observations of the Emperors New Clothes. All those bloated studio directors should hear it from closer sources than just the public. However, La-Douche should put his J-money where his unconventional J-mouth is. Simply stop making them. Go starving artist, Man! INDY-style and show us that he knows how to show those Old "Talkies" what raw exceptional talent really is! Oh...What? He hasn't really shown us that himself yet? In ANYTHING he's done? Oh... That's different... THAN SHAAAAAADDDDDDUUUUPPPPPPP!!
