Rush Limbaugh: Oil spills are part of God's plan, no need to clean up
Just when you thought conservative big mouth Rush Limbaugh could not possibly say anything more stupid than the things he's said in the past, here comes his brilliant theory on annoying oil spills. Limbaugh told his radio audience that there's no reason to spend millions of dollars cleaning up the recent massive oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. The radio host -- now being called an "Oil Spill Truther" -- says oil spills are natural events.
"The ocean will take care of this on its own if it was left alone and left out there. It's natural. It's as natural as the ocean water is."
Natural or not, this particular massive oil slick was caused by an explosion (Apr. 20) inside the Deepwater Horizon oil rig off the Louisiana coast that left 11 workers missing and presumed dead.
The rig sank two days later but oil still pumps from the drill head. Eco experts predict the environmental impact will be worse the 1989 Exxon Valdez disaster that contaminated over 200 miles of Alaskan shoreline.
Limbaugh then takes another tact, suggesting that the oil rig explosion was an inside job, that "environmental wackos" as he calls them blew it up in order to stop the off-shore drilling that President Obama approved. You want proof? Rush has it. After all, Obama has suspended further drilling after the spill. The eco-terrorists' evil plan worked!

Also natural: cyanide. I therefore assume that Rush will be more than willing to down a few tablets. After that we can tow is bloated carcass out into the ocean, which will "take care of it on its own." Though given the sheer quantity of drug-infused blubber involved, it may take quite some time.
Rush Limbaugh is a total loon with that conspiracy theory. But, now those on the left know how loony those who push the 9/11 conspiracy sound.
I'd feel more comfortable condemning Limbaugh for these remarks if someone would provide a link to an audio recording or transcript of Limbaugh making them. Too often, Limbaugh gets misquoted or taken out of context to where you can't trust paraphrased "sound bites" like what you have here.

I suggest that all of the wasted oil that is cleared be dumped on Limbaughs front door. I think that could be called "God's Plan".

As of today, it seems that Limbaugh was right; the oil has dissipated, much to the surprise of the Obama administration. If you didn't hear the comments that Limbaugh made, get a copy of the transcript...then see what your media source did to the actual quote to feed your prejudice that he is nuts!
