Pro golfer Erica Blasberg dies at 25

Erica Blasberg, a golfer on the LPGA Tour, was found dead Sunday (May 9).

Blasberg, 25, was found at her home in Henderson, Nev. The cause of death and other details are unknown, but her father says police there are investigating.

"At first glance it looks like she might have taken her own life, but at second glance, something is very, very strange about it," her father, Mel Blasberg, tells the Riverside Press-Enterprise. "We're waiting for the police to make an investigation; it's a pending investigation." Blasberg, who grew up in Corona, Calif., was a two-time All-American golfer at the University of Arizona before turning pro in 2004. She joined the LPGA Tour the next year.

Her best year was in 2008, when she recorded her only top-10 finish and earned a career-high $113,428 in prize money. She had played in one tournament this season, tying for 44th at the Tres Marias Championship in Mexico two weekends ago.
