Lawrence Taylor, former 'Dancing With the Stars' contestant, arrested in rape probe
Lawrence Taylor, a Hall of Fame linebacker who played for the New York Giants from 1981 to 1993 and competed on the eighth season of "Dancing With the Stars" alongside pro Edyta Sliwinska, has been arrested in a Montibello, New York rape investigation.
TMZ is reporting that the victim is a 16-year-old runaway from the Bronx who was under the control of a pimp. The pimp was also arrested Thursday, May 6 in New York City. Furthermore, a condom and other physical evidence was found when Taylor was arrested, though no drugs were present.
Taylor finished seventh during his "Dancing With the Stars" stint and is one of five NFL players to compete on the show, along with Warren Sapp, Michael Irvin, Jason Taylor and current contestant Chad Ochocinco.
Taylor, 51, was NFL MVP in 1986 and the NFL Defensive Player of the Year in 1981, 1982 and 1986. He helped the Giants win the Super Bowl in 1987 and 1991. Off the field, Taylor was plagued with drug addiction and personal problems. His autobiography was called "LT: Over the Edge."
