Demi Lovato: Joe Jonas didn't break up with me on the phone
Joe Jonas and Demi Lovato -- who have been besties since "Camp Rock" -- only went public in March 2010 with their serious dating relationship. And by the end of May it's kaput?That's fast, even by young Hollywood standards. Both stars are now speaking out about their sudden break-up. But we bet they both wish they'd kept their mouths shut for two months longer.
"Demi and I knew going into our romantic relationship that it may not be an easy one," Jonas, 20, tells People. "I realize over the time we have shared together that I feel I care more about our friendship right now. It was my choice to break up but I love her as a friend. She's been there for me when I needed her. I will continue to be her friend and be there for her."
Lovato, 17, took to her Twitter for a more direct approach
"There are so many crazy rumors flying around today," she tweets. "I'd like to clear a few things up. First, Joe and I did split but it wasn't over the phone. Things didn't work out but we'll remain friends. Secondly, I am NOT dating anybody already. Nothing is more important to me than the relationship I have with my fans. Just thought you guys should know this."
Guess you can't be too mad at a guy who gave you a car.
Boy, if Joe had broken up with her over the phone, that would be bad. He caught enough flack for dumping Taylor Swift via that method.
Anyway, the pair will still tour together, starting July 27 in Dallas. Will it be awkward?
