Jillian Michaels: Pregnancy controversy a real learning experience

Jillian Michaels is still a little shaken and sad by the firestorm that broke out last week after several people misinterpreted her comments about pregnancy vs. adoption, but she doesn't have much else to say on the subject.

"I have given so many interviews about it, and people are going to believe what they believe and see what they want to see," says the trainer from NBC's "The Biggest Loser," whose reality series "Losing It With Jillian Michaels" premieres in June.

"I've learned that you're going to be misconstrued and have shots taken at you. It's a shame but it comes with the territory."

After Michaels was quoted in Women's Health magazine as saying that she planned to adopt at some point in the future because "I can't handle doing that to my body," she came under fire from some readers.

Later, she wrote on her Facebook page that "There are emotional issues and physical LIMITATIONS that have resulted in that conclusion [to adopt] -- some I have discussed publicly and some I haven't."

"The ones who know you and know your message know the truth. and the ones who don't know you probably didn't like you anyway," she reflects to Zap2it now of the brouhaha.

"I'm not going to win with them whatever I do, because some people are just not going to like you, no matter how many times I say, 'That's not what I said. It's not true.' And I've said that, like, hundreds of times now. But for all the people that may hate me, if I can help one person, that makes it worth it anyway."
