Glenn Beck is sorry for Malia Obama 'plug the hole' spoof

Conservative talk show host Glenn Beck made fun of President Barack Obama's 11-year-old daughter Malia Obama on his show Friday (May 28).

President Obama mentioned in a televised interview that Malia had asked him during his morning shave, "Daddy did you plug the hole yet?" about stopping the BP oil spill.

Beck retaliated by performing a lengthy skit in which he imitated Malia and his co-host Pat Gray imitated President Obama:

PAT GRAY (co-host): (imitating Obama) No I didn't, honey.

BECK: (imitating Malia) Daddy, I know you're better than [unintelligible]

GRAY: (imitating Obama) Mm-hmm, big country.

BECK: (imitating Malia) And I was wondering if you've plugged that hole yet.

GRAY: (imitating Obama) Honey, not yet.

BECK: (imitating Malia) Why not, daddy? But daddy--

GRAY: (imitating Obama) Not time yet, honey. Hasn't done enough damage.

BECK: (imitating Malia) Daddy?

GRAY: (imitating Obama) Not enough damage yet, honey.

BECK: (imitating Malia) Daddy?

GRAY: (imitating Obama) Yeah?

BECK: (imitating Malia) Why do you hate black people so much?

GRAY: (imitating Obama) I'm part white, honey.

BECK: (imitating Malia) What?

GRAY: (imitating Obama) What?

BECK: (imitating Malia) What'd you say?

GRAY: (imitating Obama) Excuse me?

BECK: (laughing) This is such a ridiculous -- this is such a ridiculous thing that his daughter-- (imitating Malia) Daddy?

GRAY: It's so stupid.

BECK: How old is his daughter? Like, thirteen?

GRAY: Well, one of them's, I think, thirteen, one's eleven, or something.

BECK: "Did you plug the hole yet, daddy?" Is that's their -- that's the level of their education, that they're coming to -- they're coming to daddy and saying 'Daddy, did you plug the hole yet?'" Plug the hole!

GRAY: (imitating Obama) Yes, I was doing some deep-sea diving yesterday, and--

BECK: (imitating Malia) Daddy?

GRAY: (imitating Obama) Yeah, mm-hmm, mm-hmm, I was doing--

BECK: (imitating Malia) Why--

GRAY: (imitating Obama) Yeah, honey, I'm--

BECK (imitating Malia) Why, why, why, why, do you still let the polar bears die? Daddy, why do you still let Sarah Palin destroy the environment? Why are -- Daddy, why don't you just put her in some sort of a camp?

Interestingly enough, a few days earlier Beck was speaking with Sarah Palin and sympathized with her about the media picking on her kids.

"Leave my family, leave people's families alone ... said Beck. "When it was Bill Clinton, you don't go after Chelsea Clinton. You don't talk about the Bush kids. Now, the minute they get into politics, that's a different story. You leave the families alone."

Beck's camp got so much heat from his mockery of Malia that he issued a terse apology: "In discussing how President Obama uses children to shield himself from criticism, I broke my own rule about leaving kids out of political debates. The children of public figures should be left on the sidelines. It was a stupid mistake and I apologize -- and as a dad I should have known better."

Beck's apology doesn't seem sincere, especially the part where Beck states, "In discussing how President Obama uses children to shield himself from criticism.." anybody can point out where and when the president has done that, please feel free to post.

All Beck had to say was he was sorry and won't do it again.

That little barb in the beginning is like the stereotypical old person-slash-spoiled brat who never admits he or she is wrong, even when the proof is obvious for all to see or when they feel 'forced' (from their POV) to say they're 'sorry'.

It's good that Mr Beck was man enough to apologize his error. Obviously zap2it wouldn't report on James Gandolfini calling Glenn Satan right in front of Glenns child, but a tongue in cheek spoof (like Pat and Glenn do all the time) now that's news!! But I forgot, left winged Hollywood would never consider Mr. Beck human enough to report something like a major hollywood star saying something hurtful and mean directed straight at the Beck family. I really hope you're proud of yourselves zap2it.

"Man enough"? Really? This guy makes fun of 11-year old girls. He is no man. He is a douche who thinks that by saying you are "sorry" absolves you of anything. He is a racist tool who feeds ignorance and hate and you complain about an actor who said something to him? Honey, if you really believe that then you are the problem, not James Gandolfini.

Beck is nothing but a damaged putz who found a way to make money by spewing his garbage on radio and tv. He always said his hero was the character Howard Beale from the movie Network. And just like his hero, he's going to meet an unfortunate end.

Beck has his own version of his "silly" humor to make a point, but yes, all pundits and politicians and their supporters really need to leave the kids - all the kids - out of it, until or when they are old enough to be campaigning, supporting and voting for their parents. Growing up is hard enough. Growing up in the spotlight you did not ask for must be miserable.

I really hope Glenn Beck and his whole family get terrible awful brain cancer that eats away at them slowly and painfully. And that's me being polite.

I live in Australia and watch US television on cable. Glenn Beck is a fool. I watched "The View" once when he claimed that Whoopie and Barbara rushed to him on a train and asked to speak to him. LOL of course they didn't. This man is just trying to get attention. You wonder why the rest of the world thinks Americans are arrogant??? Here is an example. "Look at me, look at me"

The more people listen to and follow Glenn Beck, the more they realize he has a corrupt and polluted ideology. There is no excuse for anyone, ANYONE, to involve a president's family in the conversation. They are off-limits. And anyone who stands with Beck on his comments Friday needs to have their hole plugged and shut tight!

I know everyone who made fun of Bush apologized.....yeah right. It is amazing you can't make fun of a president because he is black.

Glenn Beck is a damn racist...Fucc all of yall cracker barrells because yall are weak. You are historically and will always remain..sorry
