Corey Haim died of natural causes, coroner says

"Lost Boys" star Corey Haim died of pneumonia -- not an accidental overdose or any other drug-related cause.

The 38-year-old Haim died March 10, and given his past issues with drugs, speculation soon centered on the fact that he may have overdosed on prescription medicine. The Los Angeles County coroner's report on Haim's death, however, states that toxicology results "revealed no significant contributing factor" in his death, according to the Los Angeles Times and other reports.

There were traces of drugs in his system, the report states, but not at levels high enough to factor in his death. Haim had obtained more than 500 prescription pills from several doctors and pharmacies in the weeks before he died.

The coroner's report essentially confirms what Haim's mother, Judy, said soon after her son's death. She told "Access Hollywood" on March 11 that a preliminary autopsy indicated Corey Haim had died of pulmonary congestion and an enlarged heart.

Haim was buried in a cemetery near his hometown of Toronto, and Judy Haim has moved nearby to be closer to his grave.
