Buyer Beware: 'Amityville Horror' house for sale
Back in 1974, Ronald DeFeo Jr. killed six family members at 112 Ocean Avenue on Long Island, New York.A few months later the Lutz family moved in only to be driven away in less than a month, claiming the house was haunted.
Now, 108 Ocean Avenue (the address was changed to prevent detection from looky-lous) is back on the market for $1.15 million.
The high asking price is due to extensive renovations.
And, really, can you put a price tag on history?

wow 19977 eh? :)
scary...
Extensive renovations my eye. Everyone knows why the price is so high - notoriety. I'd have more respect if they would just say so.
There is NO WAY i would ever live in that house, not even if it was free.
im with sherie, just the mere fact of its sad history, and the vibe of the place,it should be interesting to see how long its on the market
interesting and creepy, i can live in it!
The fact that six people were murdered there would bother me more than the haunting stuff. Saw pictures of the inside of the house on realtor.com though and it is really beautiful.
First of all the house ain't haunted except by tourists cause 2 quacks thought they could get famous and rich by making up a story about the house being haunted but every owner after that has never reported a problem. So all the rumors I think are crap, the only fact is a drug addict who was driven crazy killed his family.
