Bret Michaels' describes emergency room agony

Bret Michaels has only been out of the hospital for a day. But already he's on the cover of People magazine, talking about being in the emergency room when the subarachnoid hemorrhage (bleeding at the base of his brain stem) hit him on April 21.

A doctor asked the Poison singer if he had kids, then advised him to have them brought to the hospital.

"And I said in these exact words, 'Am I dying? If I'm dying, I want to see my kids, but if I have a chance, I don't want them to see me in this condition.'

Spoken like a true Dad.

Michaels is currently at a rehab facility for physical therapy for a few weeks but experts predict that he will make a full recovery. A recovery like that only happens in 10-20 percent of the cases of brain bleeds like he experienced.

This guy is one of the luckiest people on earth.
