'Bones' star David Boreanaz: I cheated on wife Jaime Bergman [Updated]

UPDATE: TMZ is reporting that attorney Gloria Allred -- lately seen as the mouthpiece for Tiger Woods' mistresstes -- represents
the unnamed woman and demanded a six-figure payment from Boreanaz. The actor's own lawyer, Marty Singer, said no way, and Boreanaz then took the information public to defuse the issue.The site also notes that the woman did not have a long-term relationship with Boreanaz.

"Bones" star David Boreanaz says he cheated on his wife, Jaime Bergman, and is coming clean about it now because he was undergoing "some sort of extortion."
"Our marriage has been tainted with my infidelities," Boreanaz tells People. "I just want to be open and honest. I was irresponsible."
Bergman, an actress ("Son of the Beach") and former Playboy Playmate, and Boreanaz have been married for 8 1/2 years and have two kids together. As you might expect, the revelation of his affairs has taken a toll their marriage: "We're working on repairing what has been damaged so badly," he tells the magazine.
Boreanaz says he's going public with his infidelity because a former mistress had retained a lawyer and threatened to go public with the information. (Call that the Letterman Strategy of getting out in front of a story.)
"I was associated with a woman who I was involved with and had a relationship with. She asked for money," he says. "I felt as though I was being blackmailed or there was some sort of extortion." He didn't identify the woman.
We've made no secret of our "Bones" fandom here at Zap2it, so this news strikes us as a real downer. Here's hoping Boreanaz can work out whatever issues he has and make it up to his family.

"BONES" is my favoret show, I'm not going to stop watching it. David is going to have to make things right with his wife, grow up David!

I think i deliberately put my head in the ground about DB because I love his character on Bones and didn't want to believe it of him. Knowing he is a rat just like Tiger, Jesse, etc. is rather heart breaking. I need to stop being so naive about everything!

What's the big mystery. When the Tiger Woods scandal blew up, he was linked with Rachel Uchitel. Are there others besides her?
It doesn't come as a surprise after the Uchitel scandal. I feel sorry for what he and his wife have to go through now because of his weakness and irresponsibility. Especially her.
I love him as an actor, I truly enjoy his interviews, I like his goofiness. That won't stop because of this, Bones is my favorite show right now and all I have to care about is his work on the show. Good luck to him, his wife and their beautiful kids. I hope none of them have to deal with something like this ever again.
That's what these guys dno't understand. You can't make it up. You can't get it to just go away. It'll always be there. He'll never have 100% trust from her again. Plus his kids have seen an example that it's OK for Daddy to screw around, Mommy will take him back because she has to. Was it worth it, Boreanaz?
I read that Dave was involved with Rachel (Uterus) Uchitel when his wife was pregnant with their second child and that he went back to his wife after the child was born. Uchitel(Uterus) then became involved with Tiger Woods.I would not be surprised if she is the one trying to get money out of him to keep silent since this is what she already did with Tiger!!!!!
