'Ugly Betty': America Ferrera hosts Save the Children event and you're invited

ugly-betty-america-ferrera-save-the-children2.jpgWith just a week away from the "Ugly Betty" series finale on April 14, America Ferrera has been rounding up her cast members for an event supporting the Save the Children charity at New York City's Axelle Fine Arts Gallery on April 12.

The event is open to the public and they're hoping they'll get a huge group of fans to attend. Ferrera and her guests are expected to give some insight into the show and its ending.

As an Education Ambassador for Save the Children, Ferrera visited Africa during last year's Christmas holiday season.

"It's strange to be an 'Education Ambassador' when these children lack such basic needs like food and shelter," Ferrera told USA Today. "The line gets blurred between providing education and helping provide for these needs. Really, my goal is to help promote a healthier environment for these children where they can get education and have better lives."
