The Jonas Brothers go bare (foot) for charity

The Jonas Brothers are taking off their shoes and baring their tootsies for a great cause.

Nick, Joe and Kevin partnered with TOMS Shoes for "One Day Without Shoes" to raise awareness of people in poverty-stricken areas around the world who don't own a pair of shoes.

While we all look forward to being barefoot on the beach and on vacation, we seldom think of the serious health dangers of going barefoot in undeveloped countries. So many diseases are transmitted through bare feet in contaminated soil and sewage. Not to mention the cuts on barefeet that spread disease and get infected quickly. Also, without shoes, children cannot attend schools and get an education.

TOMS, a footwear company founded by former 'Amazing Race' contestant Blake Mycoskie, donates one pair of shoes to a child in a developing country for every pair of shoes sold. Here's the website to order a pair!

The One Day Without Shoes event, which Thursday, April 8, also asks individuals to spend a part, or all, of their day barefoot in an attempt to better understand the difficulty of performing everyday tasks without proper footwear. Hey, if the Jonas Bros can do it, so can you.
