Tiger Woods at the Masters without Elin Nordegren, but with ... goatee?
Tiger Woods showed up to prep for the Masters on Sunday (April 4) with something unexpected ... and it wasn't his wife, Elin Nordegren.We already reported that attending the Masters to show support for her wandering husband was not at the top of Elin's "to do" list. In fact, she's not happy at all that he's returning to golf so soon. So it was no big surprise that she and their children are nowhere in sight during Woods' prep time for the Augusta-based tournament, which kicks off Thursday.
More surprising was seeing the usually clean-cut Woods sporting a new goatee. A new bad boy image? We suppose the golfer is more at liberty to do what he wants now that he doesn't have as many image-conscious sponsors to worry about.
Woods will hold a press conference Monday. He already granted 5-minute interviews to the Golf Channel and ESPN, but Monday will mark the first time he's taken questions from the press since the mistresses scandal started last November.

The fact is that no matter how many golf tournaments Tiger Woods wins again, he will never be seen by the public as before. Tiger’s image of a clean, decent, trustworthy man is gone for ever.

After losing the free razors from the Gillette sponsorship, and his money to his wife, this is the obvious result!!

I'm pretty sure there's nothing in his contracts with sponsors concerning being faithful to his wife.
Yes, he's a scumbag for cheating on his wife. No, it has nothing to do with you or me or his ability to play golf. We shouldn't act like we are all so affronted that Tiger Woods cheated on his wife - we don't know either of them.

Actually, while most jobs require anywhere from a minimal skill level to specialized expertise, advertising spokespeople sell an image, so in fact, most of their contracts do have some form of a morality clause very firmly embedded in them.
And that is not just in advertising. There have been sports figures in the past who have been let go by their teams only because of their off-field activities.
I'll second whoa yourself. Some public figures and especially SPOKESPEOPLE (who represent brands) usually have (i agree, some form) of a morality clause in their contracts. That's pretty standard.
So many people throw stones from GLASS HOUSES. Tiger never proclaimed to be a god. The media cast him in that likeliness. There are many celebrities, especially in ROCK, who cheat on their wives with groupies on a regular basis. Considering how these women are clamoring for money and the spotlight, I wouldn't be surprised if they weren't hired by Lefty and some of the tours other players to set him up in the first place, due to his domination of the sport. Everyone knows there is no love between Tiger and Lefty. Someone surely hired these women because they knew he was married before the encounters. Why would they have gone public?????
