Scott MacIntyre, David Archuleta of 'American Idol,' Susan Boyle releasing books

The next few months will see the releases of an array of inspirational books from singing competition contestants -- "American Idol" finalists Scott MacIntyre and David Archuleta and Susan Boyle of "Britain's Got Talent."

Scott MacIntyre tells Zap2it, "I actually have a book coming out later in the year, which I'm really really excited about ... I've been working on it for awhile and I just brought on a fabulous co-author that I will reveal at the proper time. I'm stoked about him, people are going to be very excited about the announcement. We have a couple publishers that are really wanting to get their hands on the book."
"It's going to be about my life ... 'Idol' in the context of why 'Idol' was so meaningful to me," Scott continues. "I really only told half my story on the show.The blindness was obvious, I didn't want to talk about even that too much on the show because I wanted to be voted on based on my musicianship and my artistry."

But the book, which Scott is hoping to title "Keep the Faith," will get more into his personal story, including a nearly fatal bout of kidney failure and his experience as a songwriter.

In other "Idol" author news, David Archuleta's book "Chords of Strength: A Memoir of Soul, Song and the Power of Perseverance" is due out June 1 and is available for pre-order on Amazon. In the book, David "shares his unexpected and inspiring journey, including how he overcame vocal cord paralysis to achieve his dream of being a singer,"

And finally, it was announced Tuesday, April 20 via BBC News that "Britain's Got Talent" sensation Susan Boyle is releasing an autobiography titled "The Woman I Was Born To Be." Boyle tells BBC News, "I'm writing this book to try to show that you shouldn't judge a book by its cover and I hope it will benefit other people." It is due out in the fall of 2010.
