'Real Housewives NJ': Danielle Staub's childhood tales don't add up, says report

"The Real Housewives of New Jersey's" Danielle Staub has penned an autobiography called "The Naked Truth," due out on May 25. But her ex-husband, Kevin Maher, and a recent report cast doubts on just how much truth the book will actually hold.

First, Zap2it reported that Maher, who filed a $5 million defamation lawsuit against Staub, passed a polygraph test addressing claims she made that he "brutalized and terrorized" her during their brief 1989 marriage and challenged her to do the same.

Then we brought you Maher's interview and court documents showing Staub's active and violent participation in her 1986 crimes, in which she says she was only charged as an accessory.

We also shared court documentation that she was a paid escort and proof that she had a severe drug addiction, which Maher says was an addiction to cocaine- all of which she has denied publicly.

Now, Maher and a new report by the DBKP blog say that her multiple versions of her childhood, including her birth parents and even her Italian lineage just don't pan out.

"Back when we were together, I asked my D.E.A. friends [to look into her adoption records]," Maher tells Zap2it. "Because she was on this thing to find out who her biological mother was. About a week later, they came back and they told me, 'we can't get it. Those records are sealed. No one can get it.'"

Despite the fact that even Maher's D.E.A. connections couldn't get access to her adoption records, Staub has claimed to know much about her birth parents.

"A source close to Danielle" told DBKP that the Bravo star claimed her father was a Catholic priest who got a teenaged girl pregnant in Italy. According to the source, Staub claimed her father was then murdered and her mother fled to Pennsylvania where she gave birth to Danielle and then placed her in an Italian Catholic adoptive family.

But, the report points out that according to Staub's recently deceased adoptive mother's obituary, she was a member of The Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, a fundamentalist Christian organization with no association with the Catholic Church.

Also, the surname Merrill, according to the report, isn't Italian. The name has roots in "Scandinavian Viking, English, French-Breton or Irish origins" according to the blog's research.

But what of Staub's Catholic priest father who was murdered? DBKP says it used several sources and couldn't find one Catholic priest who was murdered in "Italy, Sicily or anywhere else across the globe" in 1962, the year of Staub's birth or even the year before her birth.

Yet, according to the description of Staub's autobiography on Amazon.com, Staub changed her story again. The book's description drops the Catholic priest father and says, "her mother was pressured by her well-to-do family to leave Italy and not return until after she'd put her baby up for adoption."

"Mind you, there is no paperwork," Maher points out to Zap2it. "The only thing she knows is that at the age of two days old, she was given to her adoptive mother and father."

So, the report demonstrates that Staub has been shown to tell very different accounts of her supposed Italian-Sicilian birth parents and how she came to be adopted by the Merrills, a non-Catholic, non-Italian family.

So, what's the naked truth? Maher tells us that all will come out in her deposition for his case, which he's videotaping. She'll either have to tell the truth or commit perjury he says.

"The deposition is very important," Maher explains. "Because when this woman is deposed, it's going to come out that she's a complete liar. She's not going to have the right answers. Not only will she be deposed on the allegations that she put against me, but a bunch of other stuff, too. It's not going to be a good day for Danielle Staub."
