'Real Housewives' Alex McCord's book reveals she drank alcohol while pregnant
We've been hearing about Alex McCord and husband Simon van Kemp's parenting book since Season 2 (mostly via their "Real Housewives of New York City" cast mates' constant jabs). The book, Little Kids, Big City: Tales from a Real House in New York City, will be available Tuesday, April 5.It saddens us to say this, especially since Alex has become one of the more likable wives this season, but her cast members may have been right to make fun of her.
According to the New York Daily News, the parenting book has some unique approaches to child rearing that will definitely cause some chatter. Among them is McCord's admission that she drank while preggers.
"Throughout my pregnancy, I gave into every craving I felt," McCord states in the book. "When I wanted to have a drink, I did."
According the article, McCord also sipped champagne while in labor with Francois, their first of two sons.
That definitely keeps us wondering what else we'll learn of their quirky parenting style from the book once it hits the stands Tuesday.

I cannot believe that Alex admitted to drinking while pregnant. How risky, selfish, and irresponsible. I haven't read her book, but I hope that this isn't true. Also, I do have to agree with the first poster on Bethany. I've never been able to understand why she comes off as being the "fan favorite." I've never been able to stand her, and can't figure out what her hubby sees in her. She grates my nerves. I hope she moves to Atlanta. Those housewives would choke her like Nene did to Kim. No one would be "scared" of her. I'm glad that they are standing up to her, this season. She has been mean, snarky, viscious, etc. What comes around, goes around and karma has bit her in the butt. Most of all, I've always hated how fake and two-faced she is. She smiles in their faces, but says the worst things behind their backs in interviews and confessionals. Grow up, Bethany! I hope she leaves the show.
