No 'Twilight' for Courtney Love: Ryan Gosling, James McAvoy may play Kurt Cobain
Sorry Twihards, but R.Patz is really, really not going to play Kurt Cobain. The late Nirvana frontman's ex Courtney Love dropped by "The View" Wednesday (April 28) and discussed who were her own frontrunners for playing Cobain.
And no, Robert Pattinson wasn't one of them, but we're pretty pleased with her choices: Ryan Gosling and James McAvoy.
Not only are they both talented -- Gosling still makes us swoon in "The Notebook" and McAvoy showed range in "Wanted" and "The Last Station" -- but they're both easy on the eyes as well.
Even Love couldn't help herself when "The View" showed a picture of McAvoy on the screen. "Look at him. It's like Edward Norton and Kurt had a baby." Hee
Love will be a producer on the biopic and get script and casting approval. So far, there's no buzz on who should play Love herself.

James McAvoy looks like Kurt way more than Ryan G.
Listen, I love the Notebook like nobody's business, but to use that as an example why Gosling would be a good Cobain is sort of ridiculous. How about his amazing and affecting work in the much more similarly-themed Half Nelson instead? I don't think Cobain was known for his ability to make anyone "swoon."
That being said, either would be a much better choice than RPatz.
Agree - same with mentioning Wanted when McAvoy was so amazing in The Last King of Scotland.
Ryan Gosling all the way. Just because McAvoy has longer hair in his photo does NOT mean he looks more like Kurt.
Kurt was very reserved and introverted, and I think that Gosling could pull that off better.
I like McAvoy, too, but I just think Gosling is better for this job.
Regardless, with Courtney Love being so involved with this movie, it's going to be crap. It'll play more like a fairy tale than anything...
