Lollapalooza 2010 includes Lady Gaga, Green Day, Soundgarden

lady-gaga-moving-clothes.jpgBefore the world knew who Lady Gaga was, she performed on one of the side stages at Lollapalooza in 2007. She's returning to the summer music festival this year -- as a headliner.

Gaga joins Green Day and a reunited Soundgarden at the top of the bill for Lollapalooza 2010, which announced its lineup Tuesday morning (April 6). The festival, which happens Aug. 6-8 in Chicago, will also feature the likes of Arcade Fire, MGMT, Social Distortion, Phoenix and Erykah Badu -- who will presumably keep her clothes on -- among the 100-plus acts performing.

So why drop the dance-pop sensation in among all those alternative rockers? Let Lollapalooza founder Perry Farrell explain:

"Lady Gaga represents to me the music industry today," Farrell tells Rolling Stone. "She's a good representation of where it's at and where everybody's trying to get to. If you look at the Grammys, it looked like everybody was trying to catch up to Lady Gaga.

"We just see the vision of Lady Gaga in Chicago in Grant Park surrounded by all those beautiful buildings -- we all just thought that it would be an epic performance."

Tickets and more info are at Lollapalooza.com.
