Lin Yu Chun sang to escape pain caused by fat jokes

Dubbed the new Susan Boyle, Lin Yu Chun has shot to fame after his awesome rendition of Whitney Houston's "I Will Always Love You" on the Taiwanese talent show 'Super Star Avenue,' their version of 'American Idol' went viral.

But sadly, his singing skills stem from suffering. Lin, 24, admitted to The Associated Press that he had low self-esteem because of his looks. "Being fat draws a lot of mockery in our society," he said.

To cope with the fat jokes, he locked himself in his room and sang songs by Celine Dion and Mariah Carey. But it was Houston's song from the soundtrack of the 'The Bodyguard' that gave him the most solace.

"I played it again and again even though my parents couldn't stand it anymore and asked me to stop," Lin said. Poor little dude!

Chun's audition last Friday has already racked up over 1.3 million views on YouTube so far. Have you watched it? You must!
