Jim Carrey and Jenny McCarthy split! Nooooooo!

Comedian Jim Carrey and his equally hilarious counterpart actress Jenny McCarthy seemed like the perfect Hollywood couple.

They have been dating for several years and have stayed out of the limelight other than to support her autism activism causes. They were seen together in February at the Fourth Annual Saturday Spectacular in Miami.

But Tuesday (April 6) Jim's rep Marleah Leslie confirmed to People that the couple has officially split.

"Jim and Jenny have recently decided to end their five year relationship. They are grateful for the many blessings they have shared and wish each other the very best," says Leslie.

"I'm so grateful for the years Jim and I shared together," McCarthy, 37, said in a statement. "I will continue to be in his daughter's life and will always keep Jim as a leading man in my heart."

Carrey, 48, echoed that on his Tweet. "I'm grateful 4 the many blessings we've shared and I wish her the very best! S'okay!"

What a refreshing change for a couple to split up without rancor, accusations, lies and bitterness. Well done, J squared.
