Gerald Imes admits he molested sister Mo'Nique to Oprah

Oscar winner Mo'Nique's brother, Gerald Imes, appeared on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" on Monday (April 19) and publicly admitted that he had molested his sister when they were children. A charge he's previously denied.Saying that he himself was molested and was drinking alcohol and using drugs by the time he was 11, Imes admits that for over a year -- starting when he was 13 and Mo'Nique was 7 or 8 -- he molested her.
However, he continues to deny that he lured Mo'Nique into compliance with candy, which she has also maintained.
"I abused and betrayed the trust of another sibling, my sister, my blood sister," Imes says. "I'm sorry, Mo'Nique. I'm sorry."
While Mo'Nique did not appear on the show, she did send her blessing to Oprah and her and Gerald's parents were there.
